What we email you in the evening

On any day Talza changes or receives something on your profile — an assessment verified or flagged, your identity or evidence reviewed, a reference received, a review decision — we email you one report that evening: what changed, what's verified, and what's still outstanding. No change that day, no report.

⚠ Two things to know

Your own changes don't trigger a report. Saving your profile, answering the availability question or uploading a document won't send one on its own — check your dashboard for those. (Finishing a proof assessment does, because it creates a result Talza then verifies.)
Turning off status update emails also turns off this report. It is part of your status updates. If you switch them off, you'll only see what Talza has verified or flagged by logging in here.

Reminder: a fully completed profile reaches 45%. You need 75% to appear in the live marketplace, so your assessments are what take you over the line. At 75% your profile goes to Talza review automatically.

Record indicators

These are your own answers. Talza does not run a credit or criminal check — employers are told clearly that this is what you declared, not something Talza verified. An employer who wants a formal check can arrange one through a Talza verification partner, at their own cost.

Your criminal record answer is never shown on the marketplace. It is not on your anonymous card and not in the evidence pack employers browse — not even to say “no record”. It is released only to an employer you have already accepted an introduction from, and only if you switch on the criminal record consent in your consent centre. You can decline or withdraw at any time and it will not count against you.

If you do have a record, the two follow-up questions are there to protect you. An employer told only “has a criminal record” tends to assume the worst. Saying it was unrelated to dishonesty, or that it was many years ago, gives them the context to judge you fairly.

Ask a previous manager to vouch for you.

Send a reference request to a former manager or colleague using their work email. They confirm their own name, job title and company, then answer up to ten short rating questions — they can skip anything they were not in a position to judge. The verified rating strengthens your anonymous card. Free email addresses (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.) are not accepted.

Pending requests can be cancelled. Completed references show an average rating across the questions your referee actually answered — a question they marked "Can't assess" is left out of the score, never counted against you. Referees who have not replied after a week get one automatic reminder.
